Common mistakes converting minutes to decimal
The division is simple, but a few habits still produce a wrong or misleading result.
Dividing by 100 instead of 60
90 minutes ÷ 100 gives 0.9, which is wrong. An hour has 60 minutes, so the correct division is 90 ÷ 60 = 1.5.
Converting to hours and minutes first, unnecessarily
